Commissions overview

What the Commissions workspace is for, who can open it, and how the pieces fit together.

The Commissions workspace answers one recurring question every month: for every commission you are owed, did the money actually arrive, in full, on time, and only when it should have?

Everything in this section exists to answer that question with evidence rather than a spreadsheet.

Who can open it#

Access is per user, not just per role. Even a partner admin needs the Commissions access toggle turned on before the workspace appears. It is independent of whether that person is a partner admin, a partner member, or read-only.

The toggle is set when you invite someone (default off) and can be changed later from Team. See Team and roles for where it sits alongside the three partner roles, and Commissions is not visible if the workspace is missing for someone who should have it.

Which clients are covered#

A client’s services become eligible for commission tracking when Flux is enabled for that client. Flux is the add-on that unlocks the client’s Network features, and eligibility for your commission tracking comes with it. See Add-ons and entitlements for how to turn it on, and Enabling Flux for what else it changes.

Getting there#

Open Commissions from the workspace switcher, or go directly to /commissions/[your-agency-id].

The navigation#

The sidebar is organized into two groups.

Workspace#

PageWhat it is for
DashboardEstimated versus actual commission, at-risk amounts, open tickets, and a “paid by provider, month over month” table
ReportsUpload commission statements from your distributors and review parsed history
ReconciliationMatched versus unmatched line items and open gaps
To-DoServices missing a commission rate, data-integrity issues, and unmatched-record mapping
TicketsDispute-ready work orders for commission gaps

Source of truth#

PageWhat it is for
Rate SheetsYour provider and distributor commission rates by category
FormatsSaved column mappings per distributor, so recurring reports parse automatically
PayersPer-payer settings, such as typical payment lag

See Rate sheets, formats, and payers for that second group.

How it works, in brief#

When you upload a distributor’s commission report, Modero parses it, matches each line to one of your clients’ services (using an identifier-based match first, then an AI fallback for anything left unmatched), and checks it against what was expected.

Real discrepancies, meaning money that never arrived, arrived late, or arrived short, become tickets. The same underlying issue never spawns a second duplicate ticket month after month: it stays open, or reopens, until it is actually resolved. The system is deliberately conservative about firing tickets. The goal is that when something shows up in your queue, it is real and worth chasing.

Common questions#

I’m a partner admin but I don’t see Commissions in my workspace switcher. Why? Commissions access is a separate per-user toggle, independent of your role. Ask another partner admin to enable it for you from the Team page.
