Team and roles

The three partner roles, inviting staff, and the separate Commissions access toggle.

Every person on your staff who works inside Modero holds one of three roles, set on the Team page.

The three roles#

RoleWhat they can do
Partner adminFull control: manage client organizations, team, billing, and branding. Can invite and remove staff, and change roles.
Partner memberDay-to-day operational work (managing clients, reviewing invoices, working deals) without destructive admin actions. No billing changes, no team management.
Partner read-onlyView-only access across the agency’s data. Useful for auditors or stakeholders who need visibility but should not make changes.

A new agency’s first partner admin is set up automatically, from either signup path. Every additional staff member is invited from Team, where you also pick their role.

Commissions access is separate from role#

Each staff member also has a Commissions access toggle. This controls whether that person can open the Commissions workspace at all.

Turn it on for anyone who needs to work commission reports, reconciliation, or tickets. Leave it off for staff who do not need that workspace.

The toggle is set when you invite someone, and it defaults to off. You can change it later from Team.

Your agency’s founding partner admin gets this access automatically, since there would be no one else to grant it.

Keep more than one admin#

A lone-admin agency gets a periodic reminder to add a second admin. The reason is account recovery: a single admin is a single point of failure, and if that person becomes unreachable, there is no one left who can manage the team.

Add a second partner admin early rather than waiting for the reminder. Recovery contacts under Authentication are the other half of the same safety net.

Common questions#

Can I have more than one partner admin?

Yes, and you should. A lone-admin agency gets a periodic reminder to add a second admin, since a single point of failure is risky for account recovery.

A staff member needs to see Commissions but they are only a partner member. Is that possible?

Yes. Commissions access is a separate per-person toggle from the admin, member, and read-only role. Turn it on for them from the Team page regardless of their role.
