Uploading commission reports

The Reports page is where you upload commission statements from your distributors and review the history of everything that has already been parsed. It is the entry point for the whole workspace: nothing else has anything to reconcile until a report has been uploaded.

What happens to an uploaded report#

Three things happen in sequence, and it helps to keep them separate in your head because each one can leave work behind for you.

1. Parse. Modero reads the statement into structured line items. Saved column mappings per distributor mean recurring reports parse automatically without re-mapping every time. See Rate sheets, formats, and payers.
2. Match. Each line is matched to one of your clients’ services. Modero tries an identifier-based match first, then falls back to an AI match for anything left unmatched.
3. Check. Each matched line is checked against what was expected, which is what surfaces gaps in Reconciliation and, where the gap is real, tickets.

Anything the identifier match and the AI fallback both leave unresolved shows up as an unmatched record for you to map by hand. Suggested matches from the AI fallback can be confirmed or rejected in one click from the To-Do page.

Seeding a brand-new client from their first report#

Uploading a client’s first commission report can automatically create matching service records for lines Modero cannot otherwise match.

That means a newly onboarded client who arrives with an existing book of business does not have to be entered service by service. The report itself seeds the records.

Common questions#

We just onboarded a brand-new client with an existing book of business. Do we have to enter every service by hand? Not necessarily. Uploading that client’s first commission report can automatically create matching service records for lines Modero cannot otherwise match, so the book of business gets seeded from the report itself.
